Builder

Boolean search builder

Chips in, strings out: one query for LinkedIn's search box and one Google X-ray query for public profiles. Press Enter or comma to add a term.

Runs 100% in your browser — nothing you type or upload is sent anywhere.

Add at least one term to build the strings.

How X-ray search works

Google indexes public LinkedIn profiles. Restricting a search with site:linkedin.com/in makes Google return only profile pages, so you can source without a LinkedIn Recruiter seat: quoted phrases must appear verbatim, OR groups accept any variant, and a leading minus excludes a term.

Frequently asked questions

What is Boolean search in recruiting?

A way to combine search terms with AND, OR, NOT and quotes so a search engine or LinkedIn returns only profiles matching your logic — for example ("backend engineer" OR "software engineer") AND python NOT recruiter.

What is a Google X-ray search?

Using Google with site:linkedin.com/in to search inside public LinkedIn profiles. It's free, doesn't require LinkedIn Recruiter, and supports Google operators like quoted phrases and -exclusions.

Do LinkedIn and Google use the same operators?

Not exactly. LinkedIn's box supports AND, OR, NOT and quotes; Google uses implicit AND, OR (uppercase), quotes and the minus sign for exclusion. This builder emits the right syntax for each.
